Favorite Athletic Memory At WPHS: Bonding with my teammates throughout and season and cheering for each other during the meets.

Advice for future WPHS Athletes: Do not give in, give it everything you’ve got in practice and in the game/on the track. Compete like it is your last time ever competing because it just might be and you don’t want to look back and regret anything.

Unfortunately, my high school track career has come to an end. I always pictured my last race being at the state finals but that just goes to show that not everything goes as planned. I ran my last race without even knowing it was my last but I can truly say I have no regrets. I gave it my all and now all I can do is move forward. So my advice to the underclassmen and juniors is to always run your race like it is your last because it just might be and you don’t want to look back and regret it. I was honestly overwhelmed by all of the kindness and support my team has shown me these past few months. It saddens me that our time together ended so abruptly, but I am so thankful for the time I did have o n this team. There is no other team I should have been on this year. There are no other girls I wanted to work hard in practice with this year. Please stay confident and also humble in everything you do. Trust your training and trust in yourself. Do not settle for okay because you are all capable of being outstanding athletes, outstanding students, outstanding at whatever you put your mind to. Thank you Coach McWilliams and Coach Rose for your guidance, support and helping me be the best athlete I can be. I will take everything I have learned from the both of you and continue to use it during my collegiate years. A special thank you to all my family members especially my parents, Garvin Mark and Dawn Mark, and to my uncles Uncle Morris and Uncle Roudy. Thank you for your love, support and sacrifices. I love you all dearly, you will always be in my thoughts. Go Wildcats!
